Elizabeth Bowen, LPC
My goal is to instill hope, foster healing, and facilitate growth with each individual and couple that I work with. As a therapist, I have observed that we will all experience pain and suffering. I have also come to the conclusion that when we experience adverse events, we cope in whatever way protects us from feeling more pain. As your therapist, I will offer compassion and empathy as we explore the ‘why’ behind specific patterns and habits that keep you feeling stuck. We will also work towards gaining new coping skills and tools that will help you meet your specific goals.
As an IFS (Internal Family Systems) & EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization therapy) therapist, I utilize both therapeutic approaches to help clients access and heal traumatic memories by identifying and working with different parts of their inner self to facilitate significant relief from symptoms associated with trauma. IFS is known to be a depathologizing, holistic approach that allows individuals to explore the different parts of themselves in a curious, compassionate way.
My approach to therapy is holistic and tailored to your specific strengths and goals. I have found my sweet spot to be working with individuals and couples that are ready to change the trajectory of how trauma, life transitions, and relational distress are continuing to impact them and the people they care about.
I admire the bravery that it takes to consider counseling, and I would love to walk alongside you as you begin to invest in yourself.
